Frequently Asked Questions

What is ProofCall?

ProofCall is a private trusted-contact verification app for suspicious calls. It helps families and close groups ask for proof with short challenge phrases when caller ID spoofing or AI voice cloning makes a call feel wrong.

Does ProofCall identify scam calls automatically?

No. ProofCall is not a call blocker, caller ID app, voice-analysis tool, call recorder, or automatic scam detector. It gives you a fast manual way to verify a trusted person before acting under pressure.

How do proof requests work?

Share an invitation link or code with someone you already trust. They must accept before either of you can request proof. During a suspicious call, tap the person and ask for proof. They confirm from their own iPhone before you both see a fresh two-word phrase to compare. The optional Contacts picker only fills an invitation name; it does not find or connect accounts.

Can I learn how it works on my own?

Yes. Open Try a demo in Settings for an offline tutorial with a sample person. It sends no request or notification, saves no activity, and does not count toward your active trusted people.

What should I do if the phrase does not match?

End the call and contact the person another trusted way. Do not send money, share passwords, give verification codes, move crypto, or keep the call secret because the caller may be impersonating someone you trust.

Can I use ProofCall with normal Phone calls?

Yes, but ProofCall does not replace the Phone app or claim to know who is calling. It is a companion app you open when you want to verify a trusted person during a call.

Is ProofCall free?

Yes. You can keep up to 3 trusted people active for outgoing proof requests. ProofCall Pro adds unlimited active trusted people through monthly, yearly, or lifetime access. Accepting and answering someone else's proof request never requires Pro.
